Almost one!

I Can Has Offensive Coordinator Job?

Well, Ichi turns one year old on the 20th. Hard to believe huh? Surprisingly, her birthday presents arrived WAY earlier than expected. Some are too cute for our enjoyment alone, so I’m waiting until I have someone else around or her actual birthday rolls around to give them to her. BUT, after the firing of Tony Franklin yesterday, i decided there was one that she NEEDED. See picture.

The way I figure, she’d make an EXCELLENT Offensive Coordinator. She clearly knows how to run and how to avoid her would be tacklers. She’s great at recovering fumbles. But she KNOWS how to hold onto the ball in the first place. As for playcalling, I’m sure we can rig up some sort of mat-to-voice situation. No one will be able to figure out her erratic playcalling. Defenses have never prepped for a dog-written offense. After all, what’s the worst she could do? Lose to Vandy for the first time in 53 years? OH WAIT SHE CAN’T.

Oh and this is her first football toy. Why I didn’t have one ready to go for football season along with her a jersey, I don’t know. I would have had her a jersey on day one of living with me if I she hadn’t been so tiny (aka, I knew she would grow out of it). Note that it’s a little big for her. It also smells of peppermint and can have kibble put in it. It’s not indestructible persay, but it is supposed to be virtually indestructible. I did have to teach her how to get it in her mouth (weird visions going through your head aren’t there?) and how to know there was kibble in it. Technically I got it from Amazon, but it’s from Planet Dog in case you were wondering.

Long time no post

Sorry bout that, things are a little crazier than normal lately. First thing being that the macbook crashed and oh how it crashed hard. Failed fans, logic board and hard drive. It was literally easier to ask “what is working”. Slowly but surely, I’m redoing it to it’s pre-crash state. The backups were relatively old and syncing back caused a lot of redundant data that had to be deleted.

But, I finally finished reorganizing the external drives, so…I started the backup clones again. And I should mention Time Machine didn’t suck as much as I thought it did.

ANYWAY. It’s also football season which means much more travel fun times for me. Also, it means very full Saturdays or eating, sitting, and watching. Sometimes there’s screaming followed by praying for miracles. And for once in my life I questioned the “it’s not like they can hear you” statement made this weekend as we screamed at the tv while sitting in Quixotes. WHY? Because Quixotes is in down town Auburn.

But apparently USC once again neglected to focus on it’s “easy” games while the rest of the world is out to get them. So there will be a new #1. According to the data I compiled last year, a top 5 team losing to an unranked team falls an average of 10 places. But it’s USC and they seem to always get the benefit of the doubt, so I’m betting on #9. But check out the stat I found on ESPN this morning that is painful considering this weekend Auburn takes on Tennessee. Finally stating “go big blue” might actually make sense becuase the student body is calling for a blue-out. (Both teams prefer Orange, so this week, we prefer blue).

Separation but without the anxiety

Don’t get me wrong, I was still wondering. Since mom’s favorite phrase when it comes to pet-sitting is “they are on the roof”…I didn’t know what to think when I realized it was Sunday and she hadn’t called yet. Perhaps a little backstory.

This weekend was mine and Ichi’s first weekend apart. She stayed with my parents while I went to Auburn for AUSAM-Con. I got to stay out late and sleep late and eat without being nipped at for the first time in like 3 weeks. Granted I didn’t managed to really sleep late though. Stupid growing up and having to be at work at 8am altering my chosen lifestyle (translation, it’s rare if I sleep past 9am now).

Products of the puppy sitting: backsliding on house breaking, becoming more sociable to other people and following other folks around, and MIRACULOUSLY a sign that screams “take me out”. I can only hypothesized that she picked it up from Sunny, who hits the blinds on a window near a door when he wants to go out. Ichi now sits patiently (sort of) by the door and if she’s really excitable, jumps on it. Now she’s nearly bolting out the door, pulling me along with her when she knows it’s time and all of her accidents in the last 2 days have come shortly after she sat near the door.

Also, I finally found her a treat that I’m able to carry in my pocket and she’ll actually eat. I rewarded her after taking care of things outside, for sitting down for me to take her leash off and then dangled it in front of her until she was in her kennel.

AND…since I was going to have to board her at the vet on Saturday night because of evening plans, I went ahead and asked if the vet could do her next set of boosters and clip her nails while she was there. I’m ecstatic that they can as it means less time she has to get in a car and sit in a waiting room. I don’t like them and apparently my fear of waiting rooms has been passed on to her.

She still sits well, still comes when I call, still cute and adorable, and still jumps all over me every time I let her out of her kennel, though sometimes not until we’ve had a very unladylike full body stretch.

And the picture is of her in the car…looking all cute and well behaved and not whiney at all. She whines at the same place in malfunction junction EVERY TIME. It’s like the whole of Alabama’s fears are also her fears. Look how much bigger she’s gotten!all buckled in
